WALTHAM, M.A. - Felician men's basketball spend a few days in Massachusetts for a two game series. They opened up the trip with a contest with Division I Merrimack College on Saturday and their final game was Tuesday afternoon against Bentley University at 3:00pm.
The Golden Falcons and the Falcons' - confusing yes.. - last meeting was during the 2021-22 postseason in the first round of the NCAA Tournament where Bentley ran away with the 63-95 win. This afternoon, the Golden Falcons were held below 40 points each half, which hasn't happened since the squad paired up with Manhattan College on Nov. 16, to drop in the non-conference contest 71-106.
Here's What Happened:
- Bentley opened up the contest with a 13-7 run that would soon be scratched at 13 when Justin Davis (Jersey City, N.J.) and Anas Amos (Newark, N.J.) recorded treys for the six point equalizer. Immediately after, Dee-End McRae (Newark, N.J.) would give Felician the upper hand with a layup, 15-13.
- Felician attempted to hold off the hosts to increase their advantage, but the hot hand of Bentley allowed them to go on another run, 17-9, to swat away the Golden Falcons for the 24-30 lead. Jaylen Colon (Paterson, N.J.) would record the final points of the first half for Felician, but the Golden Falcons found themselves in a hole as they entered halftime trailing, 34-50.
- To open the second half, the Golden Falcons did not net a point until 3-minutes in after a Colon fastbreak while the hosts added on 11, 36-61.
- The largest loss for the Golden Falcons in the 2023-24 season was when they lost by 14 in the opening tournament against St. Michael's on Nov. 11. With 10-minutes left to play in regulation with Bentley, Felician was in a 30+ point deficit and succumbed to the score highly favoring the hosts by the end of the contest, 71-107.

- 38 of Felician's points came from players coming off the bench. Leading the charge this afternoon was freshman, Tavian Pullock (Paterson, N.J.) who recorded 15-points - 7 for 9 (77%) from the field - and six rebounds and right behind was veteran Davis who had 12 points. Abdul Shanunu (Accra, Ghana) posted 10 points and shot 3-4 (75%) from behind the arc and Amos had 11.
- The Golden Falcons were out rebounded 27-42 and allowed the hosts to snag 18 offensively for their 20 second chance points.
- Felician was able to force nine Bentley turnovers for 9 converted points.
- Bentley leads the overall meeting 4-0 with the Golden Falcons after this afternoon's results.
The Golden Falcons (6-5 / 2-0 CACC) will be back in action next Sunday on the road to Rochester, N.Y. to play Roberts Wesleyan University at 2:00pm.
