Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – It took an extra period, but the Felician University men's basketball team outlasted Bridgeport in a thrilling 102-97 overtime decision. Etnik Peci (Pristina, Kosovo) torched the nylon going 7-for-11 from long range for a career-best 35 points, including 23 in the opening half off five threes.
The Golden Falcons had a chance to put the game away when Sean McCarthy (Cork, Ireland) went to the free throw line in the waning seconds of the second half ahead 88-85. He went emptyhanded at the line, which Bridgeport took advantage of when Matt Turner drilled a quick three with under ten seconds left to force overtime. This proved to be a minor setback as Felician outscored the Knights, 14-9, in the extra five, staying ahead for good thanks to Peci's seventh three of the contest for a 98-97 lead with just over one minute to go. A layup and two free throws from Deiker Padrino (Bogota, N.J.) accounted for the remaining points of the contest.
