BRIDGEPORT, C.T. - Women's Volleyball opened up conference play against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut Wednesday evening. As a result, the Purple Knights toppled the Golden Falcons, 3-0 (21-25, 23-25, 20-25) to have Felician fall to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in the CACC. 

The freshmen duo of Megan Barker (St. Catharines, Ontario) and Ashanna Caviness (Bogota, N.J.) were the forefront of the green-and-gold offense as Barker ended the night with 10 kills, leading the team, and Caviness having 8. Barker kept up her dominant presence at the net defensively with 3 blocks alongside Jelena Vucic (Smederevo, Serbia) who had 4. 

After the first set loss, the Golden Falcons opened up the second with a 4-0 lead on three Purple Knight errors and a Karla Maldonado (Morovis, Puerto Rico) service ace. A Barker kill and another host error allowed the Golden Falcons to hold a 6-3 advantage, however, they weren't in the clear yet. The Purple Knights were able to battle back and tie the score at 18 to eventuall have the Purple Knights see its first lead of the set to run away with their second win, 25-23. 

Throughout the third, the hosts rallied 6 consecutive points to pull out in front quick to leave the Golden Falcons behind to hand the green-and-gold its first conference loss of the season. 

Volleyball will be back on the road Friday for a dual match with Lincoln University (Pa.) and St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y. starting at 6:00pm.
