Tse Scores Early in Women’s Soccer Conference Opener

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician Women's Soccer opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play as they hosted Holy Family University at Tryon Field late Sunday afternoon. The Golden Falcons took a 1-0 early lead to ultimately become shut out by the visiting Tigers for the 4-1 loss.

In the opening minutes of the match, Jalyn Tse (Queens, N.Y.) darted down the right side of the field and received a pass from Carlie Koziol (East Rutherford, N.J.) to find the back of the net to put Felician up 1-0 quick. The sophomore would record the solo shot for the remainder of the first half while the Tigers put on eight in order to be pulled out of the deficit for the 2-0 advantage over the green-and-gold.

The scoreboard dispplayed 4-1 come the end of the match. Despite the Golden Falcons asserting themselves by capturing a swift goal early into the contest, the Tigers overthrew the hosts to hold off the Golden Falcons that handed the squad its first conference loss of the 2023 season.

Tse, Koziol and Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands) posted a shot apiece for the three Felician attempts to find the back of the net. Keeper Alexis Lambertino (Hammonton, N.J.) snagged 8 saves on 12 shots faced.

Women's Soccer is now 0-4-2 overall and 0-1 in the CACC. The green-and-gold will be back in action on Tuesday to face Dominican (N.Y.) University in Orangeburg, N.Y. Tuesday afternoon at 3:30pm.
