STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Felician Women's Soccer entered the new week with a non-conference match-up with the College of Staten Island at the CSI Soccer Complex in a blazing Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Falcons fell behind early to drop 3-0 for an 0-1-2 overall record throughout their first three games.
With temperature reaching a peak of 92 degrees, the officials enforced mandatory water breaks at the 30-minute and 15-minute park during each half.
The Dolphins closed out the first half with a 2-0 lead dominating the offensive side by out shooting the green-and-gold 9-3. At the 71st minute, midway through the second half,
Carlie Koziol (East Rutherford, N.J.) had a penalty kick opportunity in an attempt to avoid a shut out, but the ball was booted high and out of play.
Ultimately, the hosts netted another goal to extend its lead to 3-0 to hand Felician the loss.
Filly Urias (Lubbock, T.X) paced the Golden Falcon offense with two shots while Koziol,
