RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician women's soccer falls to Texas A&M International 5-0 during their home opener at Tryon Field on Friday afternoon. In the contest, the Golden Falcons were out numbered on the offensive side as the Dust Devils posted 24 shots compared to Felician's 8.
The opposer opened up the scoring early with a 6th minute goal to then increase their advantage by three as they entered halftime with a 3-0 lead. Before the half,
Jalyn Tse (Queens, N.Y.) attempted to put Felician on the board but with a Dust Devil save, the Golden Falcons found themselves in a drought. The green-and-gold only posted two shots on goal in the first half, one by Tse and the other by
Kailey Rappel (Huntington, N.Y.).
The second half began with an
Alexis Lambertino (Hammonton, N.J.) save at the 51st minute, however, Texas kept piling on the pressure with its fourth goal of the afternoon to edge the hosts 4-0. Ultimately, the Dust Devil netted its final goal to shut out the Golden Falcons for the green-and-gold's second loss of the season.
Felician was led by Tse's two shots while
Filly Urias (Lubbock, T.X.),
Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands),
Jillian La Bletta (Pennsauken, N.J.) and
Jinelle Negri (Green Brook, N.J.) had one shot apiece. Felician Keeper, Lambertino snagged 10 saved in the day.
Women's Soccer moves to 0-2-2 in the 2023 season and will be back in action next Wednesday to welcome St. Thomas Aquinas at Tryon Field at 12:00pm.
