Women’s Soccer Loses In Heartbreak Fashion Against Post University

Rutherford NJ - Felician's Women's Soccer headed on the road to go up against Post University. In a game that was a close finish, with the Golden Falcons hanging in to the very end, ended up falling 3-2. In what would be one of the best games the Golden Falcons performed in, here's the recap in how they looked within this competition.

First Half - From the start, the Golden Falcons showed strength both offensively and defensively. Kailey Rappel came close to scoring with a near-miss shot, but the team's persistence paid off when Jalyn Tse found the net, assisted by Anne Noonan, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, Post began pressing on offense, but the defensive line—Nicole Jenal, Megan Boddy, Emmy Eskridge, and Makayla Chiariello—made several crucial stops to keep them at bay. However, at the 34-minute mark, Post scored on a penalty kick, tying the game 1-1 going into halftime.

Second Half - The Golden Falcons aimed to maintain pressure in the second half, and that's exactly what they did. On defense, Emmy Eskridge made crucial stops to prevent the opposing team from scoring. This effort paid off when, in the 59th minute, Kailey Rappel netted another goal for the Falcons, assisted by Jalyn Tse, putting them ahead 2-1. However, Post quickly responded with a penalty kick to even the score at 2-2. The match turned into a back-and-forth battle, with both teams pressing offensively. Two key saves by Isabella Riollano kept the Falcons in contention, but in the 81st minute, Post found the back of the net again, securing the lead and ultimately the victory.

Falcon's Player of the Game - The Golden Falcons Player of the Game goes to Jalyn Tse, she recorded 4 shots with 2 being on goal, one goal, and one assist that helped keep the Golden Falcons within this contest.

Next Game - The Golden Falcons return to action this Saturday at Newark Academy in Livingston, New Jersey, facing Chestnut Hill College under the lights at 6:30 PM. Following a hard-fought match where the Women's Soccer team gave their all until the final whistle, they aim to bring the same relentless energy as they chase their first win of the season.
