Bowling Kicked Off Their 2024 Season At Bud Whitman Invite

Rutherford, NJ – The Felician University Women's Bowling team kicked off their 2024 season at the Bud Whitman Invite this weekend. The Golden Falcons finished 3-2 in their five traditional matches on Saturday and matched that performance with a 3-2 record in the Baker rounds. This brought their overall record to 6-4, earning them a 5th-place finish out of 15 competing teams. With a total of 9,670 pins knocked down across 10 contests and an average score of 179.1, the team is focused on building momentum and continuing to improve throughout the season.

Leading the team was Ashley Ferrara, who finished 16th overall with 978 pins knocked down and an impressive average of 195.6 across five matches, helping keep the Golden Falcons competitive in each contest. Samantha Slocum followed in 19th place with 959 pins and an average score of 191.8 over five matches. Rounding out the top three for Felician was Mackenzie Keane, who also knocked down 959 pins and averaged 191.8 in her five matches, placing 21st overall. Here's how the rest of the team performed.

In the traditional rounds, the Golden Falcons secured wins against Sacred Heart (997-966), Howard (869-837), and Molloy (976-883), but fell to Kutztown (935-978) and Alvernia (910-933), ending with a 3-2 record. In the Baker rounds, they triumphed over Coppin State (858-774), Delaware State (Best of Seven, 1318-1283), and Wilmington University (Best of Seven, 1246-1191). However, they were defeated by Delaware State (Baker 5G, 286-832) and Saint Anselm (Baker 5G, 735-872), finishing the weekend with a 6-4 overall record.

Women's Bowling goes back on the road next weekend when they head to the Golden Bear Invite in Sinking Springs, PA from October 19th to October 20th.
