Men’s Soccer Walks Away With A Tie Against Bridgeport

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Men's Soccer traveled up to Bridgeport this evening. In a contest that would test our defense throughout the full 90 minutes, the Golden Falcons would walk away from this contest with a draw 0-0. Here's a breakdown of what transpired during the contest.

First Half - The Golden Falcons' first chance came early in the 6th minute when Lorenzo Ferrari took a shot on goal, which was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Felician kept the pressure on, earning multiple corner kicks, including a string between the 22nd and 23rd minutes, but they couldn't convert these set pieces into goals. Nicholas Robinson had a solid chance with a shot on goal in the 34th minute, but it was saved. The backline of Alvaro Martin Castedo, Kohta Yamanashi, Manuel Otero, Alex Ramos, and goalie Emanuele Moretti helped keep Bridgeport from scoring with multiple defensive stops occurring. Another opportunity came in the 39th minute, when Hugo Rodriguez took a shot that went just wide. The half ended 0-0, with Felician creating several promising chances, though they were unable to find the back of the net.

Second Half - In the second half, Felician University continued to apply pressure but couldn't break through against the opposing defense. The Golden Falcons came out strong with an early shot in the 48th minute by Ayato Kaneto, which was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Moments later, Massimo Girardi had a close opportunity but sent his shot wide. In the 51st minute, Tim Jaeger nearly found the back of the net, but his shot hit the crossbar, denying Felician a crucial goal. Andreas Mortensen and Hugo Rodriguez also contributed offensively with attempts that went over the bar, as Felician's attack stayed persistent. Despite their best efforts and several key substitutions, the Golden Falcons were unable to convert their chances into a goal. The second half ended 0-0, with Felician creating multiple opportunities but unable to capitalize, ultimately resulting in a hard-fought draw.

The Golden Falcons are back at home this Sunday for Senior Day when they go up against Jefferson at 2:30 PM.
