Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Goes Down Against Bridgeport 4-0

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Women's Soccer headed up the road this evening to go up against Bridgeport. In what would be a hard battle for the Golden Falcons, with the end result being 4-0, the team still tried to be competitive till the very end. Here's a recap of tonight's contest.

First Half - The Golden Falcons started off quickly with the offense pushing up the field within the first 6 minutes, but unfortunately being called offsides. Bridgeport would capitalize on this opportunity and score at the 10 minute mark, making the score 1-0. The backline of Ariana Monge, Megan Boddy, Lauren Kelbert, and Emmy Eskridge would be tested throughout the first half but made consistent stops. Goalie Isabella Riollano also kept holding her own against the opposing team over the next 20 minutes with 2 saves over that time. Bridgeport would score once again however at the 33rd minute, bringing the score to 2-0. Riollano would record another 3 saves to help not allow any more goals during this half, with the potential of the offense being able to start pushing in the second half.

Second Half - Starting off the second half, the opposing team would score their 3rd goal at the 46th minute to bring it to 3-0 score. The defense once again held their own as Bridgeport would keep pushing, but nothing would prevail for the next 20 minutes with multiple stops occurring. However, after a foul would be called, Bridgeport would score their 4th goal on a penalty kick to bring it to a 4-0 score. Makenna Lesczynski would give the Golden Falcons an opportunity to score late in the second half, but would be saved, ultimately bringing the final score to 0-4.

Women's Soccer gets a few days off but are back at home this Sunday when they go up against Jefferson at 12:00 PM at Tryon Field.
