Rutherford NJ- Felician University Women's Soccer hosted Jefferson on Sunday afternoon. Although the Golden Falcons suffered a 4-0 defeat, the team's effort was on display throughout, holding the Rams scoreless over the final 69 minutes of action. Here's a recap of the contest:
First Half- The Golden Falcons defense was tested early on as Jefferson capitalized in the third minute of action to take a 1-0 lead. Felician hung tough before the Rams added another goal at the 7:22 mark. Jefferson added a pair of goals before the end of the half and blocked a shot from Kailey Rappel in the 40th minute, Felician's best scoring opportunity in the first half.
Second Half- A couple of key saves from Isabella Riollano (who had eight saves total during the second half) helped keep Jefferson scoreless during second half of play. Felician had an opportunity to score late in the game, but Anne Noonan's shot was stopped by Jefferson's goaltender.
The Felician Women Soccer team has the week off before hosting Lincoln University on Saturday, November 2. Felician will celebrate Senior Day just prior to the start of the game.
