Women's Soccer Wins Big On Senior Day, 2-0 against Lincoln

Rutherford, NJ - It was a successful 'Senior Night' for the Felician University Women's Soccer Team as they defeated Lincoln by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night.

Along with honoring the program's seven senior members, the story of the game was the Golden Falcons' stellar defensive effort and timely goals.

First Half- Felician controlled the ball early and often and was finally able to capitalize offensively in the 8th minute. Anne Noonan broke away to find the back of the net to open the scoring, a goal that ultimately became the deciding factor in the game. Lincoln struggled to gain possession of the ball throughout as Felician's defense set the tone early and held it throughout the contest. The momentum carried in Felician's favor as they went into the half with the lead.

Second Half- While the Golden Falcons defense made the 1-0 match feel out of reach, Makenna Lesczynski's goal in the 47th minute essentially sealed the deal. Lesczynski's goal was assisted by Stephanie Turi and Valeria Ordonez Perez, another indicator of how well the Golden Falcons moved the ball throughout the game. Even though Felician had a multi-goal lead for most of the second half, Lincoln wouldn't back down. The Golden Falcons defense stood up to the challenge, highlighted by five saves from goalkeeper Isabella Riollano.

The Felician University Women's Soccer team will close out the 2024 regular season with a home contest against Dominican University on Friday, November 8 at 1PM.
