Felician Volleyball Shows Resilience in Thrilling Five-Set Match Against Dominican

Rutherford NJ - In a thrilling five-set match, Felician University women's volleyball team showcased resilience and determination against Dominican University New York on October 8, 2024, at the Hennessy Center. Though the Golden Falcons came up just short, falling 2-3 (17-25, 25-22, 25-21, 16-25, 9-15), their fight throughout the match was evident, as they battled hard to push the match to the deciding fifth set.

Megan Barker had an outstanding performance, leading Felician with 18 kills and 21.5 points, while Elisia Hamilton contributed 10 kills, hitting an impressive .389 for the match. The Golden Falcons' defense shined, with Alyssa Reeser collecting a team-high 28 digs and strong net play from Karla Maldonado and Hamilton, who combined for 10 blocks.

After securing back-to-back set wins in the second and third sets, Felician demonstrated their ability to compete at a high level and put Dominican under pressure. Although the result didn't go their way, the Golden Falcons showed grit and continue to grow as a team, especially with their solid defensive efforts and key offensive contributions.

Felician will take the positives from this closely contested match as they prepare for their next match this Saturday against Georgian Court at home at 12:00 PM.
