Women’s Soccer Adds A Tie To Their Record After Going Up Against D’Youville

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Women's Soccer went up to D'Youville this afternoon. In what would end up being a tie, the Golden Falcons showcasing their strong defensive presence ultimately helped them stay within this contest. Here's a breakdown of what occurred in today's contest.

First Half - The Golden Falcons stayed strong defensively to kick things off. The backline of Makayla Chiariello, Megan Boddy, Sofia De Gabriel, and Emmy Eskridge helped keep D'Youville from scoring. Isabella Riollano helped with making the right calls while also recording one save during this half. Offensively, the Golden Falcons were being held back, but with the defense stepping up, it was a 0-0 score going into the second half.

Second Half - Right away offensively, the Golden Falcons began pushing the ball and having multiple opportunities within the first 10 minutes. Jayln Tse and Felicity Urias each had an opportunity to score, but just missed. However, at the 56th minute, Kate Braun scored the first goal of the game, with the assist coming in by Cynthia Amankwaa bringing the score to 1-0. Right away, D'Youville would score in the next minute on a penalty kick, bringing the score to 1-1. Both sides began pushing either way, with the hopes of adding that one last goal to secure the win, but ultimately the game would end in a tie.

Golden Falcons Player of the Game - The Golden Falcons Player of the Game goes to Kate Braun. She recorded one goal for the Golden Falcons.

Women's Soccer gets to get a few days off, but will be back "home" this Saturday when they go up against Goldey-Beacom at 2:30 PM at Newark Academy.
