Rutherford, NJ – The Felician University Men's Basketball team got off to a great start to begin the 2024-2025 season, securing an 80-71 victory over Lincoln on Thursday night.
Fans saw the new-look Golden Falcons for the first time this season, as their first impression certainly didn't disappoint. Felician shot 42% overall from the floor, including 37.5% from three-point land, as their offensive efficiency was a major component in the victory.
Lincoln held the lead through the early portion of the first half, but that would change as the half continued.
Jared White tied the game with a layup at the 7:26 mark in the first half, and from that point on, the Golden Falcons didn't trail the rest of the way.
In his first game as a Golden Falcon, junior guard
Marcus Pierce put together an outstanding performance. The Millville, New Jersey native led Felician with 23 points, as he served as a major sparkplug on the offensive side of the ball.
Looking to build off a very strong freshman season,
Jabri Fitzpatrick was fantastic in his debut, recording 21 points and nine rebounds.
Jared White added 14 points to go along with five rebounds, while
Johnathan Izemef finished with 11 points and five rebounds of his own.
Felician doubled Lincoln's fast break points and also had the advantage in the paint (outscoring Lincoln 24-18 in the post). In a game that featured a ton of free throw attempts on both sides, the Golden Falcons made the most of their trips to the charity stripe, knocking down 29 of their 35 attempts.
Looking to build some momentum, the Felician University Men's Basketball team will be in action on Saturday afternoon as they take the trip to Bowie, Maryland, to take on Bowie State University at 4:00 PM EST.
