Rutherford NJ - Felician University Women's Swimming officially has been nominated for Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week. Amelia Mayers has taken home Swimmer Of the Week after her great performance at the ECAC Winter Championship while Rachel Omoruyi has won Rookie of the Week for her performance during the ECAC Winter Championship as well. Here's how each of them performed that helped them achieve this recognition.
Amelia Mayers competed in a total of 7 events over the 3 Day Competition. She broke and was a part of breaking 5 records at Felician while also earning 3rd Place in the 50 Yard Freestyle, 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, and the 100 Yard Freestyle. This has officially led to multiple times that now officially lead the NE-10 within these events.
Rachel Omoruyi competed in a total of 7 events over the 3 Day Competition. She was also a part of breaking 5 records at Felician, as she would also be a part of the 3rd Place 800 Yard Freestyle Relay. As a freshman, Omoruyi has stepped up big for the Golden Falcons as they embark on this new conference matchups.
Mayers and Omorouyi now get to enjoy the break then compete against Saint Peters on January 24th!
