Felician Swim Team Competes Strongly in Tri-Meet Against St. Peter's University and Long Island University

Rutherford, NJ – January 24, 2025 – Felician University's swimming team delivered strong performances at a tri-meet held on January 24, 2025, competing against St. Peter's University and Long Island University (LIU). The event, which took place at the Ocean County YMCA, showcased notable efforts across multiple events from both the men's and women's teams.

Women's 400 Yard Medley Relay
The Felician University women's team had an impressive showing in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, with the A relay team finishing at 4:11.67 and securing third place. The relay team, which included Amelia Mayers, Christine Fabo Mbite, Emily Hoppe, and Katinka Ummels, demonstrated competitive spirit and teamwork in their race. Felician's B relay team also competed, finishing at 4:21.94.

Women's 1000 Yard Freestyle
In individual events, Felician's Rachel Omoruyi showcased determination in the Women's 1000 Yard Freestyle, finishing with a time of 10:59.87. Her effort secured second place in a competitive field. Her teammate Salma Nuino Galan also swam strongly, finishing with a time of 11:37.94.

Women's 200 Yard Freestyle
In the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle, Katinka Ummels led the way for Felician, securing a solid third-place finish with a time of 2:02.31. Her performance was consistent throughout the race, with notable splits in each leg.

Overall, the meet was a fantastic opportunity for the team to demonstrate their skills and perseverance in a competitive environment. While facing tough opponents like LIU and St. Peter's, the Felician swimmers held their own, showcasing growth and determination.
