Devin Jones Breaks Own Record To Open Up Men’s Indoor Track and Field Season

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Men's Indoor Track and Field began their 2024-2025 season at FDU Teaneck, participating in their Knights Midweek Clash. Here's how the Golden Falcons performed in this very competitive field of teams to begin the new season: 

Kicking things off right away, Preseason Athlete of The Year Devin Jones shined during the Long Jump, as he got First Place during this when he jumped 7.42 meters to start things off great for Felician, which is now officially breaks his own record for Indoor Track and Field Long Jump which used to be 7.14 meters back when he competed at the DeSchriver Invite in East Stroudsburg, PA.

Within the Shot Put, Amir Spruell-Everson and Uchechukwe Santschi both finished within the Top 3 as Spruell-Everson finished 2nd with a result of 12.80 and Santschi finishing in 3rd with a result of 12.59. 

When it came to the 400 Meter, Jake Dejulia came out looking strong. He finished third in Final A, posting his 2nd Personal Best and a great way to start the season. 

Once it was time for the 1000 Meter, Ezequiel Reyes came out ready to compete, as he would take home 2nd Place during this meet, with a time of 2:42.57. Leonard Laine finished shortly after, claiming fourth place in the event. 

Coming into the 300 Meter, Ben Nelken would finish with a time of 36.67, posting his second personal best performance while claiming second place among the competitors. 

As the Golden Falcons look to grow from this meet, as there were a lot of great things to look at from this contest, they now look forward to their next meet this Sunday when they head up to Boston Massachusetts to compete at the UMass Boston Beacon Season Opener.
