WILSON, N.C. - Felician baseball wrapped up their first trip of the 2024 season against the Round Robin Tournament host, Barton College, Sunday afternoon. The original game time was schedule for 10:00am Sunday morning, but due to inclement weather, the start time was reset for 1:00pm.
The Golden Falcons currently hold a 1-3 record for the weekend and dropped to the Bulldogs twice after the 2-10 loss Sunday afternoon.
Here's What Happened:
- Barton recorded the first run of the afternoon and eventually featured a 0-8 lead over the green-and-gold through six innings.
- In the top of the seventh, the Golden Falcons was able to record two runs of their own after Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, F.L.) sent home Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.) and Cole Porter (River Vale, N.J.) on a double down the left field line, 2-8.
- After two more Bulldog runs, Felician was kept scoreless for the remainder of the contest and dropped to the hosts, 2-10 and will be heading back to Rutherford, N.J. with a 1-4 weekend record.
Box Score Insights:
- Walters was 1-4 at the plate with two RBIs while Kendrick and Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J.) went 1-3 to pace the Golden Falcons. Both Walters and Kendrick posted a double in the Sunday contest.
