Golden Falcons Avoid Shutout Against Golden Knights

ALBANY, N.Y. - Felician women's lacrosse hit the road to Albany, N.Y. for the continuation of their first week of the 2024 season versus the College of Saint Rose Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Falcons were held scoreless through three periods until a sophomore midfielder was able to find the back of the net to avoid the shut out by the Golden Knights.

Here's What Happened:
  • Less than a minute into regulation, the Golden Knights caged their first goal of the contest and would ultimately pile on 20 through three periods of play.
  • The Fox sisters took control of the ball for Felician to spark the fourth period. Kayla Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) secured the draw for the green-and-gold and formulated an aggressive play in front of the net for a shot on goal, her second of the day, but immediately after, Kenzie Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) found the back of the net for the Golden Falcons first and only goal of the game to avoid the Golden Knight shut out, 1-20.
  • By the end of the contest, the Golden Falcons dropped to the hosts 1-24 to sit 0-2 overall.
Box Score Insights:
  • Kenzie Fox was the lone Golden Falcon scorer of the day with her second goal of the season. The sister duo both tallied three draw controls apiece and Amanda Panaccione (Old Bridge, N.J.) and Mary Gazaleh (East Windsor, N.J.) had two.
  • Leslie Garcia (Bradley Beach, N.J.), Kenzie Fox, Gretchen Polst (Old Bridge, N.J.), Emma Perone (East Brunswick, N.J.), and Ilyanna Rivera (Waterford, C.T.) recorded a ground ball while Polst and Person had a cause turnover.

Women's Lacrosse will be back in action next Monday to host their first home contest of the season at Tryon Field versus the University of the District of Columbia at 4:00pm.
