Golden Falcons Soar Over Ravens for Final Victory in South Carolina

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Felician Baseball (3-10) secured their final victory in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Ebbets Field when the Golden Falcons soared over the Franklin Pierce Ravens Sunday afternoon. 

The Golden Falcons would record the winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning when they scored four for the 10-4 victory to cap off their weekend. 

Here's What Happened:
  • The Ravens started the contest with the hot swings when the put Felician in a 2 run hole after homer. Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, F.L.) tallied an RBI at bat to give the green-and-gold their first run of the afternoon, 1-2. 
  • By the top of the fifth, Franklin Pierce would try to edge the Golden Falcons with two more runs, 1-4, however, the bottom of the fifth shined for Felician when they recorded the go-ahead run for the 5-4 advantage. 
  • Chris Biolsi (Edison, N.J.) would spark the fifth inning rally for the Golden Falcons with a single and would ultimately be sent home on a Cole Porter (River Vale, N.J.) double, 2-4. Walters would continue the heavy hitting for the green-and-gold with another RBI at bat, but then Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.) shifted all momentum into the hands of Felician on a homerun for a 5-4 score flip. 
  • Since then, the Golden Falcons were able to keep the Ravens off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest while the squad added five for the 10-4 victory. 
Box Score Insights: 
  • Walters (3-5), Kendrick (1-5), and Biolsi (2-4) would record two RBIs apiece in the non-conference victory. Porter finished the day going 2-4 at the plate with an RBI.
  • Rookie, Andrew DeAngelis (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted three stolen bases and went 1-3 with an RBI and Alex Torres (Jackson, N.J.) 1-2 with an RBI and a walk.
  • Starting pitcher, Gavin Enright (Oakland, N.J.), pitched 3.0 innings and struck out three. Jordan Savinon (Staten Island, N.Y.) would add a win to his record on the mound when he pitched 3.1 innings and struck out four. 
  • Both squads posted 10 hits throughout the contest, however, the Golden Falcons kept the field clean with 0 errors compared to the Ravens one. 
Felician Baseball will hit the road on Saturday, March 2, to New Haven, C.T. to play the University of New Haven for a doubleheader starting at 12:00pm.
