RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician men's basketball hosted their senior night celebration for their four senior student-athletes prior to tip-off with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents, Dominican (N.Y.) University, Wednesday evening in JJJ Gymnasium.
Anas Amos (Newark, N.J.),
Dee-End McRae (Newark, N.J.),
Jaylen Colon (Paterson, N.J.), and
Jay'von Jackson (Plainfield, N.J.) were the quartet for men's basketball recognized during the celebrations. And an all-time record was also set by one of the seniors in tonight's events.
Heres' What Happened:
- If we flashback to when these two teams met earlier in the regular season, the Golden Falcons immediately trailed from the jump and ended up trailing by 20 by the end of the first half. Tonight was different. The green-and-gold were led by McRae and Amos for an 8-0 opening run which allowed Felician to gain and maintain the lead for the entire contest.
- At first, the largest lead was 10 for Felician when Jhonny Tovar (Caracas, Venezuela) recorded a three-point play, 22-12, and it would eventually hike up to 15 on an Amos dagger three with 2 minutes remaining in the first half, 35-20.
- The Chargers were able to close the opening half with a single digit deficit, 35-26, but yet their efforts were not successful.
- Right from the jump in the second half, Colon and Jackson posted a trey to continue to add to the Felician offensive pressure, 41-28.
- Overall, the largest lead for the Golden Falcons was 16, 68-52, on a Jabri Fitzpatrick (North Brunswick, N.J.) free throw, and once again the Chargers were able to slash the advantage to single digits but were upended when the final buzzer sounded, 79-67, in favor of Felician.
Box Score Insights:
- McRae led all Felician scorers with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Colon had 15 points and four steals, Jackson had 12 points and one block, and Amos had eight points and two assists.

- With Colon's four steals, the graduate student has become the all-time career steal leader for the Felician Men's Basketball program with 166.
- The Golden Falcons shot 41% (26-64) from the field and 44% (7-16) from the long range.
