Felician Finalizes Series Versus Southern Connecticut with a Loss

WEST PALM BEACH, F.L. - Felician baseball (10-13) finalized their series with Southern Connecticut State University Saturday morning in West Palm Beach, F.L.

The Golden Falcons were held scoreless through seven innings until the green-and-gold took advantage of an Owl error to drop 1-2 on the day.

Here's What Happened:
  • In a pattern from yesterday's game, the Owls were on the board after the first inning for the 1-0 lead. They eventually added another in the top of the third, but were held to nil for the remainder of the contest.
  • The Golden Falcons struggled find their way back home until the bottom of the eighth inning where they ultimately avoided a shut out. Freshman, Andrew DeAngelis (Staten Island, N.Y.) slammed a first career triple with two outs and scored on an Owl error to put Felician within one, 1-2.
  • With the Golden Falcons being the home team in the neutral site, they had one more opportunity to equalize or secure the win. Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.) led off with a single, but was not able to be driven home for the non-conference loss.
Box Score Insights:
  • Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, F.L.) and Kendrick went 1-3 on the day while DeAngelis was 1-1 as a pinch hitter for the lone run of the contest.
  • Daniel Kiritsis (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) struck out six in 6.0 innings pitched but was handed the loss. Rafael Solano (Jersey City, N.J.) struck out three and CACC Rookie of the Week, Gavin Enright (Oakland, N.J.), struck out two.
