Golden Falcons Loses CACC Battle to Dominican (N.Y.)

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Felician women's lacrosse battled against Dominican University (N.Y.) on the road for another Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers came out victorious, winning 24-3 over the Golden Falcons. 
 
Here's What Happened:
  • The Golden Falcons defensive end caused three turnovers on defense to start the game, first by sophomore Claudia Goncalves (New Rochelle, N.Y.), and the next two caused by defender Kayla Fox (Surrey, British Columbia). 
  • The Chargers finally broke through, scoring nine straight goals in the first quarter before their run came to an end by a goal from attacker Julia Ravazza (Tuolumne, Calif.), assisted by midfielder Kenzie Fox (Surrey, British Columbia), to end the first quarter 9-1. 
  • Ultimately, Dominican scored 7 in the second quarter to go into halftime up 16-0. 
  • In the third quarter Ravazza tallies another from a free position goal, while the Chargers add three. To finish, Dominican adds five in the last quarter while Ravazza finishes her night with her fourth hattrick of the season, 24-3.

  • Ravazza had 3 goals on 5 shots, going 2-3 from the 8-meter line.
  • Kayla Fox had 2 caused turnovers, picked up a ground ball, and won a draw control while twin sister Kenzie Fox had an assist, caused a turnover, and also picked up a ground ball. 
  • Freshman Gretchen Polst (Old Bridge, N.J.) and Goncalves caused 1 turnover each, Polst also winning a draw control while fifth-year teammate Amanda Panaccione (Old Bridge, N.J.) won 2 draws.

Women's lacrosse falls to 1-7 overall, 0-3 in conference play. They host Virginia State for a non-conference match on Saturday March 30th for a 1p.m. start time at Tryon Field in Rutherford N.J.
