Biosli Walk Off Homer Hands Felician Win Over Molloy

LYNDHURST, N.J. - Felician Baseball (20-17) hosted a non-conference single game with Molloy University Wednesday afternoon at Breslin Field.

The Golden Falcons got their redemption from their initial meeting with the Lions in Morehead City, N.C. when the green-and-gold dropped 3-6. Today, Felician came out victorious on a Chris Biosli (Edison, N.J.) 10th inning home run for the 3-2 win.

Here's What Happened:
  • In a close knit contest, the Golden Falcons were first on the board with two runs in the bottom of the fourth when the Lions committed a throwing error for Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, F.L.) to return home and an Andrew DeAngelis (Staten Island, N.Y.) RBI single, 2-0.
  • The contest grew quiet until the top half of the ninth inning when Molly rallied the equalizing run, 2-2, and Rafael Solano (Jersey City, N.J.) neutralized the field with a runner in scoring position to keep the Lions with their two.
  • After the Golden Falcons were held to nil in the final frame, the afternoon featured one extra inning. Solano found himself in a jam with loaded bases once again, but struck out the final two outs needed to give the Golden Falcons the opportunity for a walk off... it only took just one batter.
  • Biosli was the lead off for the 10th and ultimately the junior hit a high fly into right field that carried over the fence for a walk off homer for the 3-2 victory.
Box Score Insights:
  • Biolsi went 1-4 with his homer while Walters - who recorded his 100th hit of his collegiate career - went 3-4.
  • Derek Vonhorn (Hillsborough, N.J.) started on the mound for 4.0 innings and struck out four. The Golden Falcons went through six pitchers throughout the 10 frames and ended with Solano capturing the win in 2.0 innings pitched and four strikeouts.

UP NEXT: DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY
The Golden Falcons will return to conference play on Friday when they host Dominican (N.Y.) University for a doubleheader at Breslin Field. First pitch set for 12:00pm.
