LYNDHURST, N.J. - Felician baseball (21-18 / 10-5 CACC) hosted Dominican (N.Y.) University Friday afternoon to complete the three game Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference series with a doubleheader.
The result ended in a split with the Golden Falcons taking the 5-4 game one win and dropped 0-2 in game two to the Chargers.
GAME ONE: 5-4 WIN
Here's What Happened:
- Dominican got the swift upper hand with a one run top half of the first while they held the Golden Falcons to none. Throughout the second to fifth inning, Felician tallied a run each to edge their opposers 4-1.
- With the Chargers tallying another run on the sixth and seventh, the Golden Falcons' advantage diminished to one run, 4-3.
- Chris Biolsi (Edison, N.J.) posted an RBI single to give the green-and-gold their final run of the contest in which they were able to seal the deal with despite the Chargers battling with their fourth, 5-4.
Box Score Insights:
- Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.) recorded his 100th career hit when he rallied two (2-4) with a RBI. Biolsi (2 RBI), Ricky Voss (Eatontown, N.J.), and Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J.) also went 2-4.
- Daniel Kiritsis (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) recorded his third win of the season with 6.0 IP and five strikeouts while Gavin Enright (Oakland, N.J.) recorded his third save.
GAME TWO: 7 INNINGS
Here's What Happened:
- The Golden Falcons struggled to post a run throughout the second contest of the day while the Chargers added two for the 0-2 loss.
- Throughout the contest, there were two innings where the Golden Falcons had a runner in scoring position with two outs left, but the Charger pitcher forced green-and-gold strikeouts leaving the squad scoreless.
Box Score Insights:
- Kendrick continued his momentum going 2-3 to leave the team in game two while Voss went 1-2 with a walk.
- Dylan Morrill (Teaneck, N.J.) was handed the loss when he pitched 3.0 innings and struck out two. Nick DeCarlo (Jackson, N.J.) appeared in 3.0 innings with three strikeouts and Max Weber (Hicksville, N.Y.) finished out the day with 1.0 innings and a strike out.
