LITTLE FERRY, N.J. - Felician softball (10-22 / 44- CACC) returned to their home field for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader with the University of Bridgeport Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons ultimately dropped twice in the contest as the Purple Knights posted 2-3 and a 0-1 victory over the green-and-gold.
GAME ONE: 2-3 LOSS
Here's What Happened:
- Both teams were held to three hits throughout the game one contest, however, a green-and-gold error allowed the Purple Knights to record their first run of the day in the top of the third.
- By the fifth, the opposer tallied two more runs for the 0-3 advantage over the Golden Falcons and Felician was able to cut the deficit to one on a Sadie Kittoe (Winchester, V.A.) RBI at bat and agressive baserunning by Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.), 2-3.
- Ultimately, the five runs combined were the only ones featured in game one as Felician dropped for the first time in the afternoon.
Box Score Insights:
- Alexis Velotta (Menifee, C.A.) went 1-3 while Daisha Howard (Westbury, N.Y.) added another triple to her all-time record and went 1-2.
- Kittoe posted the lone RBI for the squad.
- Riley Williams (Corona, C.A.) pitched 5.2 innings and struck out seven while Jazel Lopez wrapped up the game in the circle pitching 1.1 innings.
GAME TWO: 0-1 LOSS
Here's What Happened:
- Felician continued to battle with the Purple Knights as game two only presented one run throughout the seven innings which happened in the top of the fifth for the Golden Falcons second defeat versus the Purple Knights.
- With the hosts only recording one hit from a Mia Martinez (Bronx, N.Y.) double, the squad fell short, 0-1.
Box Score Insights:
- Martinez went 1-2 with the lone Felician hit.
- Williams made her second appearance on the day and pitched a complete game with another seven strike outs.

The Golden Falcons will hit the road to Lakewood, N.J. to play Georigan Court University for a doubleheader CACC contest starting at 11:00am.
