BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - Felician Softball (17-25 / 11-7 CACC) entered their backyard to Bloomfield, N.J. to play Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons fell in both games, 2-3 and 0-1 respectively as they dropped to 11-7 in the conference.
GAME ONE: 2-3 LOSS
Here's What Happened:
- Hannah Ramirez (Carson, C.A.) put herself in scoring position early with a stolen base and was brought home by an Alexis Velotta (Menifee, C.A.) RBI double for the 1-0 lead after the first.
- Katie Steinmetz (Chula Vista, C.A.) bombed another home run - she currently leads the team with four on the season - for the 2-0 advantage over the Bears, however, a three run bottom fourth will feature a score flip in favor the hosts.
- The Golden Falcons were held scoreless for the remainder of the game one contest for the 2-3 defeat.
Box Score Insights:
- Steinmetz went 1-2 with a home run and an RBI while Velotta went 2-3 with an RBI and a double. Mia Martinez (Bronx, N.Y.) posted a double of her own when she went 1-3 at the plate.
- Riley Williams (Corona, C.A.) recorded the loss in 7.0 innings pitched and struck out 7.
GAME TWO: 0-1 LOSS
Here's What Happened:
- Throughout the game two contest, Felician would record four base runners on one hit to drop 0-1 and to be swept by the Bears.
- The top of the third showed promise to put the green-and-gold on the board with bases loaded, but the Bears' pitcher found her way out of the jam to keep the squad at nil.
Box Score Insights:
- Felician's lone hit of game two came from Mikayla Brown (Las Vegas, N.V.) as she went 1-2.
- Williams finished another complete game with four strike outs.
