Felician Highlights Three Men's Lacrosse Seniors Prior to Caldwell Faceoff

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician men's lacrosse celebrate three seniors prior to the start of play with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents, Caldwell University, Saturday evening.

Alfonso Guerrero (Bellmore, N.Y.), Jabes Escalente (Chelsea, M.A.) and Matthew Branco (Saddle Brook, N.J.) were among the student-athletes highlighted for the Felician Men's Lacrosse program. In a tight knit game, the Golden Falcons dropped 13-15 after a commanding Cougar second quarter.

Here's What Happened:
  • Felician gathered all momentum from their celebrations and out scored the Cougars 5-3 to start the day when Jayden Rios (Stony Point, N.Y.) scored twice and Joe Bouab (Ronkonkama, N.Y.), Liam Dunn (Murfreesboro, T.N.) and Finn Crocker (South Hamilton, N.Y.) caged one.
  • The Golden Falcons fell under the pressure of the Cougars in the second when they dropped 6-2 throughout that 15-minute period to trail their opponents 7-9.
  • Throughout the third and fourth quarters, the score was flipped consistently where Felician would go up two on goals from Escalante and Dunn, but would find the score equalized once more in the third to enter the fourth even at 11.
  • With only two goals recorded in the fourth compared to the Cougars four, the Golden Falcons dropped 13-15 in their senior day defeat to drop to 1-6 in CACC play.

Box Score Insights:
  • Rios led the offensive charge with four goals going 16-30 in face offs and grabbed 15 ground balls. Dunn posted three goals with four caused turnovers in the night while senior Escalente has two goals and an assist.
  • Bouab tallied two goals of his own while Ethan Todner (Plainfield, I.L.) and Crocker had one. Drew Gisinger (Beachwood, N.J.) assisted two goals in the day.
