Women's Lacrosse Freshmen Duo Scores in the Loss to Georgian Court

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician women's lacrosse faced a tough Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent in Georgian Court University on Monday afternoon, receiving a 21-2 loss. Despite the loss, both Golden Falcon freshmen found the back of the cage in today's game.
 
Here's What Happened: 
  • Felician was held scoreless in the first half, but gave up 12 to the Lions who found holes in the Golden Falcon defense to earn 25 shots in the first half compared to Felician's five.
  • Freshman Aly Amadruto (Tinton Falls, N.J.) caged the first green-and-gold point of the game in the third quarter, however, the squad wouldn't score again until the fourth when freshman defender Gretchen Polst (Old Bridge, N.J.) netted her second goal of the season.  
  • The Felician defense held strong during the second half of the game, only surrendering 4 goals in the third quarter and 5 in the fourth, to bring the final score to 21-2 after regulation time. 
 
Box Score Insights:
  • Amadruto scored a goal, caused 2 turnovers, picked up 2 ground balls and won a draw control. 
  • Polst scored a goal, picked up a ground ball and won a draw control. Amanda Panaccione (Old Bridge, N.J.) picked up an assist on the Polst fourth quarter goal, her fourth of the season. 
  • Panaccione had an assist, caused a turnover and picked up a ground ball. 
  • Julia Ravazza (Tuolumne, Calif.) won 3 draw controls.
  • Gabby Sammarco (Morganville, N.J.) had 12 saves in the cage and also picked up 2 ground balls.

Felician women's lacrosse dropped to 2-12, 1-7 in the CACC and they will wrap up their 2024 schedule when they host University of Bridgeport on Thursday at 3pm at Tryon Field.
