Felician Bullpen Secures Shut Out of Pace in Regular Season Finale

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Felician Baseball capped off their regular season schedule with a non-conference single game with Pace University in Pleasanville, N.Y. Tuesday afternoon.

The Felician bullpen put in the work on the mound as they captured the shut out win, 1-0, striking out nine Setters and only walking three.

Here's What Happened:
  • Both teams were able to put a man on the base paths throughout almost every inning, but it was the Golden Falcons that took advantage of an host error opportunity.
  • Two crucial errors costed the Setters the game when Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.) led off the inning being hit by a pitch and Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, N.J.) shifting him to scoring position on the first error of the inning. After a failed pick off attempt of Kendrick, the sophomore rounded third and touched home for the first and lone run of the day for the win.
Box Score Insights:
  • Felician was held to three hits - one by each batter -, Jack Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, N.J.), Andrew DeAngelis (Staten Island, N.Y.), and Alex Torres (Jackson, N.J.).
  • The pitching staffed shined as Rafael Solano (Jersey City, N.J.) started on the mound to strike out 2 in 4.0 innings while Daniel Kiritsis (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) relieved the starter for 2.2 innings to strike out four.
  • Nick DeCarlo (Jackson, N.J.) captured his second save of the season in the final frame and struck out two.
