POMONA, N.Y. - Felician baseball (19-17 / 9-4 CACC) hit the road to play a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference single game with the Dominican University Chargers under the lights in Clover Stadium Tuesday evening.
The Golden Falcons boasted a 9 hit and 14 run outing while shutting out the Chargers for the 14-0 victory in seven innings of play.
Here's What Happened:
- A passed ball gave the green-and-gold their first run of the day when Andrew DeAngelis sprinted home. Through four full innings of play, Felician held the 1-0 lead and no team was able to post another run since the top of the first.
- Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J.) got the four run top half of the fifth going for Felician when featured an RBI single. Soon after, two more runs will score on being hit by a pitch for the 4-0 lead which soon became extended on a Julian Uejima (River Edge, N.J.) walked, 5-0.
- The largest inning of the night for Felician was in the sixth when they piled on eight runs throughout. With just one out, the green-and-gold tallied those eight runs through at bats by Jack Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, N.J.), Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, N.J.), Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.), Ricky Voss (Eatontown, N.J.), Biolsi and DeAngelis, 13-0.
- Felician was not done yet as they had one more run in the tank for the final run of the game and the 14-0 victory over the Chargers.
Box Score Insights:
- Biolsi led the team with three RBI and went 1-2 at the plate and two walks. Kendrick (1-3), Medrano (2-4) and Uejima (1-4) had two RBI's apiece.
- Voss tied the all-time record with four walks in the Tuesday contest.
- Walters finished the day going 2-4.
- Mike Caldon (Matawan, N.J.) started on the mound and pitched 6.0 innings, struck out seven Chargers, and only walked one. Nick DiMartino (Staten Island, N.Y.) capped off the game with the final 1.0 IP and struck out two.
