East Rutherford, NJ - Felician's Women's Volleyball hosted Queens College this evening in what would be a tough opponent with Queen's starting off the season 4-0. In what would lead to some tough sets, with Felician winning one of the sets, they would ultimately lose 3-1 bringing their record to 2-2. Here's a breakdown of the match.
Going into the first set, Queen's would come out no fire, starting off with a 7-2 lead, but this wouldn't stop the Golden Falcons from making a comeback as from the help of #10 Megan Barker, a few service errors, and attacking errors would help bring the score to 15-14. The Golden Falcons would keep adding pressure throughout the rest of the first set, but the opposing team would win the first set. Looking to add some pressure to the Knights, the Golden Falcons kept it close throughout the beginning of the second set, but with the score being 8-8, kills coming from #7 Karla Maldonado, #2 Sara Betts, and Megan Barker would help the Golden Falcons make a run bringing the score to 12-8. In another tough battle within the teens with each team earning points back and forth leading up to the score being 17-14, kills by #18 Ashanna Caviness, Megan Barker, and Karla Maldonado would help the Golden Falcons win the second set bringing it to 1-1. Leading into the third set, Queen's University came back swinging going up 10-3 to start the set, then the Golden Falcons would go on a small run, before the Knights would bring the score to 21-10. Another small run by the Golden Falcons brought their score to 18, but going into the fourth set Queen's won the third match bringing it to 2-1. Felician didn't wanna go down without a fight, as starting off the fourth both teams started going neck to neck with kills coming from #5 Elisia Hamilton and Karla Maldonado to bring the score to 10-8. The Golden Falcons looked to keep pushing, Queen's University started pushing ahead right at the end of the match solidifying their win 3-1.

Next Game - The Golden Falcons will be going on a flight all the way to Alaska to compete in the Alaska Fairbanks Tournament which is starting on the 12th and ending on the 14th with their first match being against Alaska Anchorage at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The Golden Falcons look to bring home a few victories to add to their record right before they kick off their first conference match the following week.
