Men’s Soccer Puts The Nation On Notice, Defeating #16 Assumption

East Rutherford, NJ - Felician's Men's Soccer went on the road this evening to go up against #16 Assumption. Starting things off with both team's competing neck to neck, Felician came into the second half ready to let the entire nation know that they deserve to be ranked. Here's a breakdown of what happened on this monumental night. 

Right away at the 2 minute mark, Felician started things off with a bang by #16 Lorenzo Ferrari, assisted by #3 Manuel Otero to bring the score to 1-0. Felician wouldn't let off the gas, as they kept pushing offensively until the 24th minute where Assumption would score their first goal of the match bringing the score to 1-1. Both teams started going back and forth throughout the next 15 minutes, but right at the end Assumption would make another goal bringing it to 2-1 Assumption. Being down 1, the Golden Eagles aimed to make a comeback in the second half and that's exactly what they did as right at the 46 minute mark, #8 Nic Robinson scored on a penalty kick to bring the score all even. #1 Emanuele Moretti made sure that Assumption didn't score again, as Felician wanted to make a statement. Right at the 63 minute mark, another goal for the Golden Falcons by Lorenzo Ferrari with a double assist by #66 Tim Jeager and #18 Andreas Mortenson to bring the score to 3-2 Felician. Right after, at the 65th minute, Assumption made a big mistake by scoring an own goal to bring it to 4-2 Felician. If you thought the Golden Falcons were done, well think again as #10
Shuntaro Moritimoto scores at the 72 minute mark with an assist by Nic Robinson to bring the score to 5-2. Then, right when you thought the game was over, Shuntaro Morimoto scored another goal at the 88 minute mark to bring the score to 6-2. The Golden Falcons put the nation on notice, bringing their record to 2-0-0 to start the season with 2 very impressive victories to kick things off.

Falcon's Player of the Game - The Falcons Player of the Game goes to Manuel Otero. He came away with 3 points, with 1 shot on goal and 1 assist to help Felician get the monumental victory this evening.

Next Game - The Golden Falcons will be back on the pitch Sunday, September 15h with their very first home match against Queen's College at 12:30 PM. The Golden Falcons look to continue building on their impressive start by continuing to add victories to start off their 2024 Fall season.
