East Rutherford, NJ - Felician's Women's Volleyball went on the road to compete against Kutztown in what was a turn of events for the Golden Falcons. Beginning the game going down 1 set, to coming back winning the remaining sets shows how dominant this women's volleyball team is set to be for this 2024 season. Here's a recap explaining what took down.
First set started off hot, with Megan Barker and Ashanna Caviness both getting 2 kills a piece. Turning into a back and forth battle, Felician kept hope alive, but it would be Kutztown leading 1-0 at the end of the first set. This didn't stop the Golden Falcons as during the second set, after another neck and neck battle, but with the help from Elisia Hamilton and Rowan Jensen, they turned things around bringing the score back to an even 1-1. Going into the 3rd set, Felician didn't stop applying pressure to the opposing team, after being down 5-1 to start the set, they quickly turned things around becoming another back and forth match that led to 5 points ending this set bringing the score to Felician 2, Kutztown 1. Leading into the fourth set, the Golden Falcons looked to end this match and that's exactly what they did, starting the set 4-0. In another close set, going back and forth, it would be the help of Tatum Williams and Ashanna Caviness to seal this match, bringing the first win of the season upon the Golden Falcons Women's Volleyball team.
Falcon's Player of the Game - The Falcons Player of the Game goes to Ashanna Caviness. She totalled 13 kills and brought in 6 blocks to help the Golden Falcons secure their first win on the season. She'll be one of the impactful athletes to watch out for this season.
Next Game - The Golden Falcons will be back on the court tomorrow afternoon when they host a Tri-Match with Pace University at 12 PM and Lincoln University (PA) at 4 PM. The Women's Volleyball team looks to head into this match with the same drive that they had, in what looks like a great start for the Golden Falcons this 2024 Fall season.
