Caldwell, NJ – The Golden Falcons came up short in its regular-season finale, falling 2–0 to Caldwell University in CACC play on Wednesday afternoon.
Both sides battled through a physical opening half marked by aggressive play. Felician created several early scoring opportunities, but the Cougar goalkeeper held firm to keep the match scoreless. Caldwell ultimately broke through in the 31st minute, converting one of its few chances to take a 1–0 lead into halftime.
The Golden Falcons intensified their attack after the break, generating multiple corner kicks and sustained offensive pressure. However, Caldwell extended its advantage in the 54th minute and held on despite continued threats from Felician's front line.
Goalkeeper Gerardo Mendez finished with five saves, anchoring the Golden Falcons' defensive unit. Felician outshot Caldwell 19–14 overall, including seven shots on goal.
Despite the setback, the Golden Falcons have secured a berth in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament, where they'll look to defend their conference title.
