Clarion, PA. - Felician University women's basketball picked up a road win on Tuesday, edging Clarion 79-76, thanks to a dominant performance from
Ane Valle. Valle recorded 29 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and five steals on an incredible 13-of-16 shooting.
Felician exploded out of the gate, racing to a 27-13 first quarter lead. Clarion responded, knocking down six threes in the second quarter to pull within 44-41 at halftime.The Golden Eagles ultimately hit 13 triples on the night to counter the Golden Falcons'Â interior attack.
After Clarion briefly grabbed momentum in the third, Valle took control again with eight quick points, as the Golden Falcons rebuilt a multi-possession cushion. The game tightened late, but Felician found answers in the paint, finishing with 50 points inside, 22 fast-break points, and 22 points off turnovers.Â
Stephanie Formby added 18 points and seven rebounds, while
Deviney Jackson chipped in 14 points, six boards, and seven steals.
Karla Barreno provided a spark off the bench with eight points.
