Rutherford, N.J. - Felician women's basketball used a dominant third quarter to pull away and secure a 61-51 victory over Queens on Tuesday night.
After a tightly contested first half, Felician took a 30-29 lead into halftime. The Golden Falcons locked in defensively in the third quarter, holding Queens to just four points while outscoring the Knights 16-4. Felician extended the lead to as many as 16 points in the second half and never looked back.Â
Ane Valle led all scorers with 20 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists, as
Stephanie Formby added 12 points, four assists, and two blocks.
Mckenzie Palek chipped in 10 points and five assists.
Deviney Jackson contributed eight points and three steals as Felician forced 20 Queens turnovers and scored 22 points off them.Â
Despite Queens winning the rebound battle, the Knights struggled from the field, shooting just 29 percent overall and 15 percent from three.
