Rutherford, N.J. - The women's basketball team battled, but ultimately fell to Holy Family, 66-53, on Saturday afternoon.
Holy Family jumped out early, holding Felician to nine first quarter points and building a 33-24 halftime advantage. The Golden Falcons responded with energy coming out of the break, outscoring the Tigers 18-11 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to just two points into the final quarter.Â
Depite the strong thrid quarter push, Holy Family regained control in the fourth, shooting 53.8 percent from the field and converting key free throws down the stretch.Â
Ane Valle led Felician with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Valle surpassed the 1,000-point mark, making her the 10th women's basketball player to achieve this milestone.

Katherine Ritchie each added 10 points, as McKenzie Palek dished out a team-high seven assists. The Golden Falcons held a 28-20 edge in points in the paint and forced 15 Holy Family turnovers.Â
