Bridgeport, CT – A four-goal performance powered Felician University men's soccer to a commanding 4-0 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday evening at Knights Field. The Golden Falcons struck once in the opening half before adding three more goals after the break, while Mathias Kristoffersen and the Felician defense delivered another clean sheet in conference play.
Felician wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. In the 15th minute, Ernest Llaras found the back of the net to give the Golden Falcons an early advantage. The defense kept Bridgeport off the board for the remainder of the half, sending Felician into the break with a 1-0 lead.
The visitors turned that narrow advantage into a comfortable cushion early in the second half. Andre Cunha doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, finishing a chance set up by Michel Bose. Just four minutes later, Cunha shifted into the playmaking role, assisting Andreas Mortensen's goal in the 56th minute to put Felician ahead by three.
With the Golden Falcons firmly in control, the attack struck again in the 76th minute. Bruno Arenal Gutierrez converted a pass from Nico Rubino to complete Felician's four-goal performance and cap the scoring.
At the other end, Kristoffersen made one save to preserve the shutout, his seventh of the season. Felician limited Bridgeport to just one shot on target while recording 13 shots of its own, including seven on goal.
The victory moves Felician to 5-4-7 overall and 4-0-4 in conference play, extending the Golden Falcons' unbeaten run in CACC competition.
