Staten Island, N.Y. - The Felician Unviersity men's and women's track and field teams turned in a strong overall performance at the East Coast Conference Indoor Championships, highlighted by several podium finishes.
On the women's side,
Chantoya Thomas led the way with a championship win in the 400m, while also placing fifth in the 200m.
Imani Fitzpatrick secured silver in the 400m, giving Felician a dominant presence in the event. Thomas, Fitzpatrick,
Kariyah Hamilton, and
Darrian Lewis earned a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 relay.
Aarysa Moore delivered an impressive all-around performance, finishing second in the 60m hurdles, third in the high jump, and fifth in the long jump. The women also earned sixth-place in the distance medley relay to cap a well-rounded meet.
The men were equally competitive, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 4x400 relay as
Jake DeJulia,
Amir Elkholy,
Courtney Howell, and
Amair Buffaloe crossed in 3:24.10.
Devin Jones paced the field events with a second-place mark in the long jump and added a fourth place finish in the 60m.
Devir Britton and Buffaloe added key sprint points, as Patrick DuBois placed fifth in the 800m. In the hurdles, Shawn Katzidzira and
Alberto Liste both earned top-five finishes in the 60m hurdles.
Jamal Dyer placed fourth in the high jump. The Golden Falcons received additional points in the pole vault, triple jump, shot put, and distance medley relay to round a strong championship showing for both teams.
