Men's Basketball Fends Off Goldey-Beacom

Rutherford, NJ – In a fast-paced, high-intensity home battle, Felician secured an 80–78 victory over Goldey-Beacom, surviving a tight, physical contest that featured multiple momentum swings and a one-possession finish.

Felician improved to 19–3 overall (14–1 conference) after controlling the tempo for long stretches and converting defensive pressure into transition offense. The game moved at a brisk pace from the opening tip, with Felician consistently pushing the ball off turnovers and rebounds while attacking downhill. Despite the pressure, the contest remained close throughout, with four lead changes and the outcome undecided until the final seconds.

Felician carried a 42–37 lead into halftime, fueled by an aggressive transition attack and strong interior activity. The Golden Falcons dictated pace for much of the afternoon, holding the lead for more than 34 minutes, but Goldey-Beacom stayed within striking distance by capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. The intensity remained high in the second half as both teams traded baskets and momentum swings, with Felician responding each time to maintain control.

Defense-to-offense execution proved critical, as Felician finished with 19 fast-break points and 22 points off turnovers. The Golden Falcons spaced the floor effectively and shared the ball, shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range while converting 20 of 24 free throws in a game where every possession carried weight.

The closing stretch showcased Felician's composure. With the score within one possession inside the final four minutes, the Golden Falcons executed in transition, made timely free throws, and controlled the glass to protect the lead. Key defensive stops in the final minute forced contested shots and allowed Felician to close out the two-point win on their home floor.
