Rutherford, N.J. - The Felician University women's basketball team put together a dominant all-around performance on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Goldey-Beacom, 90-49.
Felician wasted no time taking control, holding a slim 19-16 edge after the first quarter before completely shutting down Goldey-Beacom in the second. The Golden Falcons limited the Lightning to just two points in the period while pouring in 28 of their own to take a commanding 47-18 lead into halftime.
The momentum continued out of the break as Felician outscored the visitors 22-17 in the third quarter and 21-14 in the fourth, leading by as many as 44 points in the contest. The Golden Falcons shot an efficient 57.6 percent from the field and dominated the paint with 62 points inside.
Stephanie Formby led all scorers with 26 points, adding eight rebounds and three steals.
Ane Valle followed with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.
Karla Barreno added 13 points, four assists, and three steals. Felician scored 19 bench points on the afternoon.
Felician will look to carry the momentum into Wednesday night as they host Dominican for their annual Play for Kay game. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
