BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Felician College men's soccer team saw its brief two-game winning streak snapped by the University of Bridgeport, 1-0, in non-conference action Thursday night at Knights Field.
Bridgeport sophomore Clayton Ulmer (Hamden, CT) picked up the game's only goal in the 64th minute. Ulmer handled a backward pass from teammate Matt Garcia (Wappingers Falls, NY) and finished from the center of the 18-yard box. It was his first goal of the season.
Bridgeport (8-5) owned a slight 12-9 advantage in shots for the evening, and the hosts were also the more accurate squad. Felician freshman goalkeeper Anthony Tsouhnikas (Clifton, NJ) had six saves in his first career loss. The Golden Falcons (7-8) forced the Purple Knights' Danny Hernandez (Bay Shore, NY) to make only three saves in earning his fourth shutout of 2011.
Adrian Sutcliffe (Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England) was the most active Golden Falcon on offense with three shot attempts. Jon Aristizabal (Medellin, Colombia) got off five shots for Bridgeport.
