Felician Earns Efficient Victory Over Post

Box Score

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College women's basketball team never trailed in its 73-52 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over visiting Post University on Wednesday evening at Job Gymnasium. Destiny Barnette (Paterson, NJ/PCTI), the CACC's leading scorer, produced a game-high 18 points for Felician (8-7, 5-3 CACC).

Barnette fell just short of her average entering the night of 20.1 points per game, and added four assists and three steals. Teammate Jessica Ford (Jersey City, NJ/St. Anthony) recorded 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks. The Golden Falcons committed a season-low seven turnovers while forcing 23.

Felician led by as many as 14 points late in the first half and took a 35-25 lead into the locker room. Only once in period two did Post (3-11, 1-6) cut its deficit to single digits, at 41-32 with 15:51 to play. But the Golden Falcons scored the next five points and systematically pulled away, with the final 21-point margin the largest of the night.

Felician survived a 16-point, 21-rebound performance from Eagle senior guard Monique Chance (Brooklyn, NY). Kelli Reynolds (Milford, CT/Jonathan Law) added 13 points for the visitors. Trina Plummer (West Babylon, NY/North Babylon) netted 10 points and Que Lyles (Bronx, NY/Banana Kelly) contributed nine points, 13 rebounds and three blocks for Felician.

The Golden Falcons ran up advantages of 26-4 in points off turnovers and 40-18 on points in the paint.
