Fast Start Propels West Chester Over Men's Soccer, 3-0

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Junior goalkeeper Daniel Wroblewski (Brick, N.J.) made a season-high 10 saves, but could not prevent the Felician College men's soccer team from going down to its sixth consecutive loss, a 3-0 non-conference setback to host West Chester University on Monday night at John A. Farrell Stadium.

West Chester (7-7-2) rolled up a 19-2 advantage in shots for the match, including 12-0 in the opening period. All of the game's scoring came in the first 21 minutes. Golden Ram junior Kevin McCann (Kennett Square, Pa.) converted on his own rebound just six minutes, 31 seconds, into the game, and classmate Conor Malarney (West Chester, Pa.) followed with his first two markers of the season in the 17th and 21st minutes.

Neither starting WCU goalkeeper Garrett Bleiler (Allentown, Pa.) (20 minutes) or reserve Kevin Marron (Tinton Falls, N.J.) (70 minutes) needed to make a save in order to record the combined shutout. Felician (4-9-2) has allowed 11 goals in its last two games after giving up just 12 in its previous 12 contests.

Freshmen Tarek Sebiat (Chalfont St. Peter, England) and David Jakubik (Henryville, Pa.) got off the two second-half shot attempts for the Golden Falcons. The attack for the visitors was also hampered by eight offside violations.

Felician concludes its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule with a 3 p.m. match on Wednesday at Nyack College. The Golden Falcons need a victory against the Warriors to remain alive for a CACC playoff berth.
