Felician Falls At UDC, Concludes Regular Season

Box Score

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Felician College men's soccer team concluded its 2012 regular season on Friday afternoon with a 3-0 non-conference loss to host University of the District of Columbia at UDC Field.

Felician (5-10-2) will learn of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoff fate on Saturday, when Dominican (N.Y.) College travels to Caldwell College for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff. A draw or a Dominican win in that contest would bring the Golden Falcons their second consecutive CACC Tournament appearance and a first-round game on Monday.

On Friday, Felician surrendered a breakaway goal in the middle of each half. The Firebirds capped the victory by scoring again with 25 seconds to play. Freshman Adriel Garcia (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and sophomore Ben Diaz (El Salvador) posted a goal and two assists apiece for UDC (6-8-2).

The Firebirds accumulated an 11-7 advantage in shots, including 7-4 in the second half. Sophomore midfielder/defender Alex Jean (Notre Dame de Londres, France) was the most active Golden Falcon on offense with three shot attempts, and Felician junior goalkeeper Daniel Wroblewski (Brick, N.J.) was credited with two saves.

UDC freshman keeper Risheq Waleed (Greensboro, N.C.) earned his first career shutout, making one save.
