Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Felician College saw its 2012-13 women's basketball season get off to a difficult start on Saturday afternoon, as the Golden Falcons were defeated, 85-33 by host American International College at Butova Gymnasium. The game was the first contest of the two-day AIC Tip-Off Classic, and was the season opener for both schools.
AIC led, 8-0, after 79 seconds, and built a 36-2 advantage with six minutes left in the first period. Felician was 1 for 12 from the floor and committed 10 turnovers in the first 14 minutes of action.
The Yellow Jackets led, 47-10, at halftime.
Junior Trina Plummer (West Babylon, N.Y.) led Felician with 14 points. Classmate Keisha Jean-Louis (Somerville, Mass.) posted nine points and seven rebounds in 14 minutes.
Krista Ferrentino shot 9 for 12 from the floor and finished with 18 points and nine rebounds for AIC.
The Yellow Jackets owned a 59-34 rebounding advantage and out-shot Felician, 49-19 percent. The Golden Falcons made just 1 of 18 three-point attempts.
