Golden Falcons Fall At Concordia, 97-86

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Despite placing five scorers in double figures, including four with a season-high output, Felician College lost its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball game to host Concordia (N.Y.) College, 97-86, on Wednesday night at the Meyer Center.

Felician (6-13, 3-8 CACC) fell behind, 22-12, after 8 ½ minutes, and trailed by as many as 17 points in the opening period en route to a 49-36 halftime deficit. The visitors trailed by a double-digit margin for most of the second half, falling behind by as many as 21 points with 6:22 to play. The Golden Falcons did make a late-game run, but could only get within 93-86 at 0:51 before Concordia sealed the victory.

Felician scored 55 bench points, led by 18 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes from junior guard Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, NJ). Classmate Anthony J. Green (Jersey City, NJ) (no relation) had a career-best 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Anthony J. Green joined three Golden Falcon teammates – sophomore Owen Barnes (Teaneck, NJ) (11 points), junior Dupke Smith-Obasuyi (Newark, NJ) (11), and freshman Will Thompson (Teaneck, NJ) (10) in scoring in double figures for the first time in their Felician careers.

Concordia junior Argelix Gil (Brooklyn, NY) posted game highs of 26 points and 10 rebounds to top four Clippers in double figures. The hosts (10-10, 7-5) received 16 points and nine boards from Jason Allyene (Bronx, NY). The teams combined for 56 personal fouls and 75 free-throw attempts.
