Box Score

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Led by a career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds from sophomore swing player Katrina Plummer (West Babylon, NY/North Babylon), the Felician College women's basketball team earned a 77-63 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over the visiting University of the Sciences on Saturday afternoon on "Play 4 Kay" Day at Job Gymnasium. Felician (15-7, 12-3 CACC) matched a school record with its eighth consecutive win.

After falling behind, 5-0, in the game's first 65 seconds, the Golden Falcons outscored U-Sciences, 37-8, over the next 14 minutes. Felician led by as many as 25 late in the first half before the Devils (14-10, 10-6) rattled off the final six points for a 41-22 halftime deficit. Golden Falcon sophomore Jac'Quel Saunders (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Catholic) netted 16 first-half points.

U-Sciences sliced a second half deficit that again grew as high as 25 to 13 in the closing minutes, but a three-point field goal by Golden Falcon freshman Alex Salaycik (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) (season-high eight points) stopped the visitors' momentum.

Plummer went 10 for 15 from the floor and 3 of 4 at the foul line. Saunders finished with 18 points, and junior Que Lyles (Bronx, NY/Banana Kelly) accumulated 12 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks as the hosts rolled up a 57-38 rebounding advantage. Felician junior Shakeema Green (New York, NY/Murry Bergtraum) turned in season highs of seven rebounds and six assists off the bench.

Felician shot 45 percent from the floor and held the Devils to 27-percent shooting. The Golden Falcons maintained their hold on first place in the CACC North Division with four games remaining.

Freshman Brianne Traub (Wayne, NJ/Eastern Christian) had 16 points and eight rebounds and classmate Jessica Sylvester (Trevose, PA/Nazareth Academy) added 14 points for the Devils.

Felician's Job Gymnasium was adorned in pink to support breast cancer awareness, and the Golden Falcons sold T-shirts and held raffles to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund as part of a national Women's Basketball Coaches Association initiative.
